This listing is for a New Pro Marine / Mercury Outboard Console Top Mount Control Box Assembly w/ Trim Switch. Replaces OEM # 8M0059686.
The fast idle button can be used to advance throttle without shifting into gear. With control lever in Neutral, push on fast idle button(cover) to open throttle for starting and warm-up.
The power trim and tilt switch is attached to the control lever grip. Used to trim or raise driver unit for trailering, launching, beaching, or shallow water operation. Pushing it UP trims up and tilts up the engine and pushing it DOWN trims down and tilts down the engine.
The nut can be adjusted to increase or decease the friction on the control handle, preventing creep on the remote control handle. By turning in or out the throttle friction screw of the remote control box, the stiffness of the control lever can be adjusted. Turning the adjusting screw to the right makes the control lever stiff to turn, and vice versa.
With control handle in Neutral and fast idle feature not activated, move control handle to Forward gear or Reverse gear position. Continue movement of control handle in same direction to open (advance) throttle.
Fit for all current mariner outboards with integrated trim and newer force outboards 40 hp. For a single outboard and is furnished with single trim switch for trim and trailering.
