How to Buy an Outboard From a State That Does NOT Require Outboards to be Titled.

Marine Parts Warehouse is based in Kentucky and does not require an outboard title. They ship hundreds of used outboards yearly; some of these engines go to states requiring titles.

Each state has different requirements; some title the boat only, some the boat and trailer, some the boat, trailer, and the OUTBOARD!

Purchasing, titling, and registering a watercraft or outboard from another state is never enjoyable.

It sounds like a hassle, but believe it or not, all the extra headache required to bring a used outboard into one of these states is a notarized bill of sale containing the engine model and serial number, the buyer and seller's addresses, and any other required information must be provided.

Six states currently require an OUTBOARD title: Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah. Others, such as Rhode Island, require outboards to be registered but not titled.

Please click on the links below if you live in one of these six states to view outboard titling information.
